Good cover of a great song. You really nailed your solo nicely with great tone and timing.
If I heard your cover on the car radio I would crank it up.
Hard to get it loud on my system, I had my computer speakers almost maxed out and it still wasn't very loud but that's probably just my system.

Much Appreciated, thanks for the feedback!

You're right, no excuse. I rerendered it at a normalized volume.

*edit* Oh, I should mention that I recorded it in standard tuning and then pitch shifted all the instruments (aside from drums) down a half step. After this I recorded the vocals. I did this for 2 reasons
1) the original is tuned down a half step (and I'm too lazy to reintonate my guitar)
2) more in my vocal range

Anyhow, this is why the instruments may sound a bit washed out

Good job, moe. Just got a chance to listen to it. Sounds like you're getting your new gear figured out pretty well

It's August 1, but I'm going to finish and submit mine today. Obviously Moe wins anyways.

I'll allow it. I'd rather cover someone elses choice for next month, whether I win or not

Listening right now. Really cool take on it, Alex :D I dig it muchly

After listening to that, I can totally hear a folky solo fingerstyle arrangement . . . too bad I suck massively in that department. Where's bukena when you need him

I like it. Truer to the original than mine and, unfortunately (IMO), that song is perfection and hard to improve upon it. Thereby my vote goes to yours for keeping the feel of it. Also, I like your solo better, your ear for melody is great.

Anyhow, Band on the Run rings a bell. Shall that be for August? I'm totally down, it's a great song
