Is merely that, a winamp plugin idea. Perhaps a bit more direct than the Batch MIDI exporter project S-GUO made. So what it would do is allow me to select x number of tabs and "open with -> winamp" and it would just steal the MIDI from the files and play it directly. Does this sound possible? Reasonable? What sorts of things are needed from PTE to do this? From Winamp? If there's any interest in this, and it sounds somewhat feasible from those who know about code, I'll go and ask the Winamp people for help as well.

One of the considerations, should this become a reality, is what we could do to facilitate its use. You wouldn't want to just double click on a .ptb file and load it in Winamp. You want PTE to play as your default player still. Maybe there could be a Windows item in the right click menu like "Enqueue in winamp."

In fact, Mark, do you suppose you're half way there already with your Batch Exporter? I bet that information is related to what this task requires.

Edit - I decided to go ahead and make that thread anyways. I'm not one for patience. :)

Once a standalone PTB-to-MIDI program is available, all kind of things would be possible. The plug-in you talked about, tab playback online, a PTB radio that plays the tabs in the archive, and other stuff that could make use of that feature. But nobody has built such a program yet.
